5280+ SENIOR CHORALES
EXPECTATIONS of MEMBERSHIP & PARTICIPATION

September 1, 2024

Whereas, we are all music-loving adults, let's work together, learn together and have fun together!

Our Mission states: “We exist to provide significant and measurable health and wellness benefits of choral singing to mature adults” and we look forward to successfully delivering these benefits to you!

While we do not have expectations of perfection, we do want you to learn at rehearsals, and by utilizing the tools provided under our MEMBERS website tab, to also practice at home between rehearsals and come prepared each time we gather.

Except as may be required by our presenting sponsors, we have no mandatory rehearsal attendance requirements; however, we strongly urge you to make as many rehearsals as you possibly can, especially the last 4 leading up to concert time.

We provide a substantial amount of information in real time on our website ( 5280chorales.org ), and we especially encourage you to keep up with updates provided:

1) in the main NOTABILIA banner on our HOME page;

2) for timely news and weather updates in the website header (on every page) in the upper right-hand corner PURPLE BOX; and

3) on our CALENDAR tab entries - note the many details and updates regarding events, venues, dates and times, etc (click on the actual calendar entry for full details!).

PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS IMPORTANT TO "REFRESH" EACH TIME YOU VISIT A WEBPAGE AS CONTENT IS CONSTANTLY BEING UPDATED!

Our regular concerts and other special performance opportunities are completely optional, however we encourage you to participate and enjoy the camaraderie and “fruits of your labor”!  You are encouraged to sing in your home chorale’s scheduled concerts, and subject to space availability, you may have the opportunity to perform with our other chorales.

We have seasonal "Performance Attire Guidelines" that do not require the purchase of expensive costumes/uniforms, etc.  Please refer to specifics of these Guidelines under the MEMBERS tab.

We make every effort to assist and accommodate those with mobility/handicap issues or other special needs.  Please contact our staff with any questions or concerns.

Throughout our program, we may acquire photos, recordings, videos, etc of our members rehearsing, gathering/socializing, performing, etc, and by being a member of our 5280+ organization you grant us the right to use these acquired media as we deem appropriate for the benefit of our organization.

Our weather policy: We will publish the current status of rehearsals and performances in our website header's PURPLE BOX (upper right corner) at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled beginning of any event; normally, no email notification will be sent. Any cancellation may be ours OR that of our presenting sponsor OR facility provider.  In any case, we will not be able to reschedule nor provide refunds.  In the case of inclement weather, we expect YOU to make a final "go or no go" decision based upon your personal comfort level, current road conditions, weather forecast, potential hazardous situation, etc.

Our #1 PRIORITY is your safety and well-being!

Your consent and agreement with these provisions is implicit with your participation. Thank you.
